La Habra is a "bedroom community" located in a valley between the Puente Hills and the West Coyote Hills, just north of Fullerton in Orange County, about 20 miles southeast of Los Angeles encompasses a of 7.3 square mile area at an elevation ranging from 350 to 520 feet above sea level and lies within the Anaheim-Santa Ana-Garden Grove Standard Metropolitan Statistical Area (SMSA).
La Habra received the prestigious All-America City award in 1974 from The National Municipal League for the city's outstanding leadership in boosting industry, business revitalization, human relations, housing needs, environmental protection, broadening educational opportunities, and community services. La Habra was also chosen as a Bicentennial City during 1974 in recognition of its commemoration of the nation's 200 year anniversary. The City of La Habra offers innovative solutions to the needs of it's residents and homeowners through numerous programs including the Neighborhood Housing Service, a Local Development Company, and the Child Development Headstart program, Dial-A-Ride, a community hospital. The Police Department administers model programs for crime prevention, Community Based Policing and drug abuse prevention (DARE). La Habra has a range of shopping, professional and commercial services and light industrial areas.

La Habra History
|
 The City La Habra was platted in the 1890's and incorporated on January 20, 1925 with a population of 3,000. A police force was organized a year later and employed a chief, a patrolman and a traffic officer. By 1928, the La Habra was the largest avocado center in Southern California. La Habra's first Fire Department building was constructed In 1930 followed by the original City Hall in 1935. By 1950 the population had only grown to 5,000.
The Civic Center took shape when the existing County Library was dedicated in 1966. followed by the present Administration Building in 1969.

 La Habra is currently almost completely built out, with over 99.9% of the City’s land area either already or nearly developed with a broad range of housing types and styles and prices.
A nearly completed major development plan of approximately 370 acres located in La Habra Hills, includes a public Golf Course, Westbridge at La Habra, and 400 single family homes.
